The aquatic center at McDowell Mountain Ranch is now open. Come check it out. Below you will find some of the initial details about the park.
The aquatic center is scheduled to open in a few weeks. The competition pool, where residents can lap swim, features 13 lanes and a dive well. Local high school swim and dive teams will practice in the pool, as well as a city-sponsored synchronized swim team. The remaining features in the aquatic center, including the leisure pool, the city’s first lazy river (at over 600 feet long), and the city’s first tube slide, will open in late spring in time for the busy swimming season.
The new aquatic and fitness facility encompasses 17 acres of the total 75-acre park campus and cost $14.2 million. The facility also houses locker rooms, a staff training room, a poolside café, and two exercise classrooms that will allow Parks and Recreation staff to offer a variety of aerobics, dance, and children’s classes.
