Pinnacle Peak is a part of the city of Scottsdale, located at the north end of the McDowell Mountains. This high Sonoran Desert area is about 1,000 feet higher in elevation than Phoenix and is generally cooler than the Valley. It may even see light snow in winter as we did in 2005.
A key reason the 6,200 residents choose to make the Pinnacle Peak area their home is the natural, and unspoiled environment. The actual Pinnacle Peak that gives the name to the area is a 3,170-foot peak composed of granite, feldspar, mica and quartz. The 150-acre City of ScottsdalePinnacle Peak Park surrounding the peak offers hiking, horseback riding and rock climbing.
The area has some of the best valley views and is highly influenced by the presence of the McDowell Mountains and other mountains such as Pinnacle Peak and Troon. The area is mainly custom single family homes located in small to medium sized subdivisions. Roughly two-thirds of these subdivisions have public streets and no perimeter walls, while the remaining one-third is are gated and has perimeter walls. Pinnacle peak offers a while selection of homes and town homes to choose from. A buyer’s entry point into the area can be as low as $850,000 or so.
