Scottsdale Ranch is a 1,110-acre ”progressive residential community” with a population of over 7,000 living in about 4,000 homes. It’s located in northeast Scottsdale near Lake Serena, just east of McCormick Ranch and west of the Salt River Indian Reservation. Its 40-plus neighborhoods, constructed between 1984 and 1999, are home to a diverse population with a variety of residence styles that include waterfront homes, several townhome communities, private patio homes, tennis villas (Racquet Club at Scottsdale Ranch) and spacious single-family residences.

Lake Serena
The centerpiece of Scottsdale Ranch is Lake Serena, a 42-acre artificial lake with about five miles of shoreline. The lake is part of the Indian Bend Flood Control system. Its waters are from a deep well on Scottsdale Ranch, allowing residents to enjoy boating, fish, recreational rentals, and annual events like the Lake Festival and Holiday Boat Light Parade.
Scottsdale Ranch Park and Tennis Center
This 31-acre park offers various sports and recreational opportunities. Residents will find baseball diamonds, basketball, tennis, racquetball and volleyball, plus large grassy areas with shade trees and picnic areas. The tennis center features 24 lighted tennis courts, four lighted racquetball courts and one lighted squash court. There are also six lighted sand volleyball courts, picnic areas, four half-court basketball courts, four lighted ball fields and a children’s playground. The United States Tennis Association named it an outstanding public tennis facility in 2019. Just outside of the park is the Via Linda Senior Center, the boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale and Laguna Elementary School.
