What Life Is Like Here

Mesa is a large East Valley city with a friendly, down-to-earth feel. Downtown Mesa centers on Main Street, with restaurants, shops and the Mesa Arts Center. In addition, Valley Metro light rail runs along Main Street to Tempe and Phoenix.

Parks, Mountains and Spring Training

Mesa is close to the outdoors. For example, Usery Mountain Regional Park has hiking and biking trails, and the Salt River and Tonto National Forest are just to the north. Red Mountain Park and Riverview Park offer lakes, sports fields and play areas. Also, the Chicago Cubs train at Sloan Park and the Athletics train at Hohokam Stadium each spring.

Getting Around

US 60, the Loop 202 and the Loop 101 connect Mesa to the rest of the Valley. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is usually about 20 to 40 minutes by car, depending on where you live and traffic. In addition, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in southeast Mesa offers flights to many cities.
